The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority): Delivering better protection and management of the iconic coast and parks of Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.

Established on 1 December 2020, the Authority manages, protects, rehabilitates and fosters resilience of the natural, cultural and heritage values of coastal Crown land and marine waters along the Great Ocean Road. 

About the Corporate Services Team 

The Corporate Services department provides management, advice and service to the whole organisation in the areas of Human Resource, Financial, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) systems, Information Management, Asset, Risk, Compliance and Governance.  

Purpose of the Position 

This position is responsible for the oversight of the Authority’s corporate governance program, along with compliance with its legislative responsibilities and statutory requirements. Also, for ownership of enterprise risk and frameworks, and broader management of risk across broad geographies and services.

Primary Responsibilities 

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the Authority’s continued compliance with a range of legislative and statutory requirements plus good governance and risk management practices.

Qualification and Experience  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Law or an associated discipline
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Risk Management, or equivalent
  • Ideally with a minimum of 6 years’ risk, governance and compliance management experience and a working knowledge of Victorian Government and Australian Risk and Compliance standards.
  • While not essential, relevant experience in the Local Government, Authorities or Not for Profit sectors would be favourable
  • Experience in interpreting legislation, understanding statutory processes and developing compliant policies and procedures.
